A couple of days back, in class, one of my friend asked me “What is Love? When do you know you are in Love?” – poor chap, he is cupid struck! But I could not give him an answer since I was not sure what to say. So here is it..
Love comes unexpected.. It is silly, unconditional, beautiful, unbearable, and the most wonderful feeling a living being can have. You can feel your heart, even it’s partitions when you are in love. You can see your heart flying out of you, breaking your ribcage, to someone whom you don’t even probably know.
Huh.. It is better I stop before I say, since the heart made a passage to the outer world, the liver, the kidney and the intestine also decided to have a tour, a shopping and an evening walk. 
Ok, so to the post. Here I present the top 5 songs which comes to my mind when I think about Romance. 
1. Pehla Nasaha..
There wont be a single Indian who doesn’t love this song. This song has the freshness of Love. All crazy lovers should have sung this at least during their first love. This song carries the dew drop of love with it.
This is a BEAUtiful song. It is filled with romance.. The music, lyrics and everything is simply wonderful. A great song to flatter any girl [;)]..
3. Maya jaalaka…
I know there are a thousand (?) better old malayalam romantic songs than this. I don’t even know if the song is a romantic one or not. But I love this song and I feel that this song has got something romantic.
Another Malayalam song from the superhit movie, ‘Aniyathipravu’.Well, I dont know what I like the most about this song – it’s music, lyrics or the picturisation. What I meant to say is that it has all these three.. 
This is a gazal in Malayalam. I heard this song, for the first time, in Superstar (a reality TV show) when Sangeeth sung it. From then it is one of my favorites.

PS: Well, these might not be the best but these are the first five which came to my mind..
1. Hame thumse pyaar kitna.. Yeh hum nahi jaante!
2. Mein shayar tho nahi… magar ….
3. Tu pyar hai kisi aur ka.. tujhe chahta koi aur hai…
These would be my first three in Hindi.
If I start in Malayalam, I would still be counting!
And more or less the same with Tamil..
Still in tamil, I can choose one.

I agree with your statement, “Love comes unexpected”. Old mallu songs are simply awsome. No, I don’t want to restrict myself to old songs. Any romantic song which touches my heart, my soul(don’t know whether I have it, lets take it as #if 1 else take it as #if 0) and makes me “feel” would be the best song
