I can’t believe that it is December 31st already!! Didn’t this year feel short. I guess, Vijay Mallya had bribed our government to cut out certain months (or is it the same through out the world!?).
Anyways, now that we are here (31 of December) let me tell you those few things that happened to me other than the routine eat-sleep-watching movies-eat cycle.
M-Tech Second Semester:
The first half of 2009 was fun filled classroom entertainment. I was very serious about my studies and developed my own ingenious method of taking class notes in an efficient manner as shown in the pic below

Apart from the academic lessons, I was determined to fine tune many of my soft skills like improving the efficiency of observation.

Reinforcing Economic Recovery.
When the much hyped recession was hit the market took a pause. There was complete silence and all of the economic gurus were clueless about what to do. That is when I took it up and pumped a lot of money from my account buying very expensive (but completely useless) camera and bike into the economy. Yes, it surely made me a pauper but the market woke up once again regaining to its old glory. All those high paid job holders (in NIT), you owe me!
Teaching Assistantship:
Teaching Assistantship started and was assigned the duty of compiler lab for B-tech students. For those who don’t know about it. It is a job where wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous girls with *very* nice dress sit besides you and you cant ogle, flirt or stare!! The maximum you can do is, just smile and evaluate their work. I always thought about teaching as a great job. Now I understand it is not just because of the pay most graduates drop teaching jobs!
Finding Nirvana:
I always wondered what I was destined for. Throughout my life my mind wandered over all those philosophical questions rishis from HImalayas used to think, like, ‘why do we study?’, ‘When will Malyalam film industry adopt bikinis?’, ‘Why did India choose bowling in 2003 world cup final?’. Well, my point was I discovered why I am send to earth. God realized that Chet Atkins and Les Paul failed in their mission and wanted me to spread the *real* music of Guitar. Oh yes, I meant I started learning guitar.. Those who know malayalam can read about it here. Those who can hear can even listen to my play in that article :P.
Campus Placements:
After a big gap I again attended campus placement dramas. Attended two interviews this time and got job in Philips (a month back). The best thing was that they gave us a cool jacket (well, the offer letter too).
To end with, this is what I want to tell you 2009…
‘Some come to our lives and go, some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same! That is what you have done to me, 2009.!!’ (Sssh.. I don’t mean that.. :P)
